To a Classier Siren

In celebration of their 40th anniversary, Starbucks rolled out with a new logo. Personally, I think the designers working for Starbucks did a pretty good job here. Simplicity and elegance comes to mind. Removing the words from the mark, bringing in the green to the table, and taking the Siren out of her ring. For forty years she’s represented coffee, and now she's that star. Seriously, I think they've come a far ways. Their old design is pretty hideous--they definitely took the mythical eroticism of sirens wayy too seriously; it looks a like a pregnant lady in spread-eagle position. She doesn't look very happy, all too suggesting the possibility that she is a victim of rape. Thankfully, that's in the past. She's grown to be a much more attractive and now finally, our new evolution liberates this siren from her outer ring, making her the true, welcoming face of Starbucks.

Also, coffee is pretty fascinating thing you should check this out. This is currently my favorite infographic.
