Shortest TED talk but one of my favorites. The reason I enjoy TED so much is because I obsess over these questions and quite a few of my own like them. TED is my link to sanity...it's nice to see that I'm not some crazy person but that there are plenty of highly intelligent people that have similar thoughts/questions. You have done such amazing work with TED. I would LOVE to talk to you for just 15 minutes Chris.

In case you were wondering Rachel, it costs around $1300 ~ $2400 for your ship to pass the Panama Canal. Not too bad for a fee that saves you 8,000 miles of naval time right? And yeah, I know you're itching to know--The highest ever Canal toll was $141,344.91, charged to a cruise ship called the Crown Princess, and the lowest toll ever paid was 36 cents by Richard Halliburton, who swam the Canal in 1928. God I love the internet. Honestly, Knowledge is exponential. It's sad that such a small proportion of our planet is lucky enough to learn everything they wish to learn.
