In case you were wondering Rachel, it costs around $1300 ~ $2400 for your ship to pass the Panama Canal. Not too bad for a fee that saves you 8,000 miles of naval time right? And yeah, I know you're itching to know--The highest ever Canal toll was $141,344.91, charged to a cruise ship called the Crown Princess, and the lowest toll ever paid was 36 cents by Richard Halliburton, who swam the Canal in 1928.

God I love the internet. Honestly, Knowledge is exponential. It's sad that such a small proportion of our planet is lucky enough to learn everything they wish to learn.
