To a Better Way of Health

it really does a disservice to all those medical doctors who worked their asses of to earn their qualifications to examine patients, when they are trapped working for a horribly understaffed hospital bogged down by GPO premiums and illogical paperwork/ protocol in hopes to prevent litigation. How is a doctor supposed to give quality care and satisfy a patient who has been waiting 4 hours when the doctors only has 10min tops to spare?

I'm tired of this bullshit, I've missed two classes already. I originally came in to sign up for a physical therapy appointment only to find out that I need a referral from a doctor to make an appointment. I try to make a doctors appointment, only to find out that no appointments are made for injuries within the past 7 days. I then go to urgent care to ask for some advice, (if they actually see me it's $30). I then wait a full hour for this "advice" in which they tell me I should get an Xray. "You've waited this long, might as well" the nurse tells me...

My main point is, many doctors choose to their profession in hopes of helping people. Receiving deep, honest "thank you"s. That's why I wanted to be a doctor, at least. How the fuck can I be in the mental state to give those sentiments to my doctor when I've been waiting in this goat rodeo for 4 hours. My fellow compatriots across these curtains waiting to see a doctor just like me--I know--feel the same way. During this timespan, I've listened in on the conversations between doctors and patients. Almost all of the patients, you can hear the nervousness and frustration in their voices. Presumably, they are worried about the outrageous prescription costs, or the fact that they've wasted a sixth of a day, missing work, to see the doctor.

It's just not right.
